The Maharashtra government will give ₹2.5 lakh as incentive to couples entering inter-caste marriages, but with a caveat that either the groom or bride must be from the Scheduled Caste category and the marriage must be performed at a mass wedding ceremony organised by the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Samata Pratishthan (DBASP), an autonomous company working under the State government’s Social Justice Department (SJD).

Under the scheme, if a non-scheduled caste person marries a person belonging to a scheduled caste, he will be given an incentive of Rs 2.5 lakh. An annual income of Rs 3 lakh is earmarked for availing the benefits of the scheme .

Under the Maharashtra Inter-caste Marriage Scheme launched for the promotion of Inter-Caste Marriage of the State Government, the beneficiary amount will be allocated by the Center and the State Government (Amount will be allocated by the Center and the State Government). This amount will be given 50-50% according to the central and state government.

Maharashtra Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme Online Registration Process

In this scheme, if one person belongs to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Deprived Castes and Nomadic Tribes and the other person belongs to Savarna ie Hindu, Jain, Lingayat, Sikh religions, then the marriage was referred to as inter-caste marriage.

The applicant / Married Couple should submit his/ her application personally in prescribed form to Concern District social welfare officer, z.p./ (for Mumbai City & Mumbai Upnagar Social Welfare officer, Bruhmumbai, Chembur) along with necessary documentary evidences.

Beneficiary Guidelines

• The person/couple should be the permanent resident of Maharashtra.
• Beneficiaries / married couple, one should be belongs to SC ST, VJNT and SBC. (Caste certificates need to)
• Beneficiary / married couple should submit marriage registration certificate.
• The married couple, Male age should not be less than 21 years and female should not be below 18 years. (On / Brides of school leaving certificate)
• Two Honble persons recommendation letters.
